IMPORTANT NEW INFORMATION FOR ALL APPLICANTS AND RECIPIENTS:  Dundee Dollars for Scholars will send you e mails concerning important deadlines, or issues with your application or awards.  Look for e mails with "Dundee Dollars for Scholars" in the subject line.  The e mail may say it is from "ScholarshipAmerica" or "Dollars for Scholars" or "Lisa Wood".  Be sure you open and read these e mails promptly!

PARENTS:  If you child is under 18, you must consent to her applying for scholarships with Dundee Dollars for Scholars.  Your student would send you an e mail requesting that you do so.

You may start applying for specific scholarships on February 15, 2018  and you  must complete all applications by April 15, 2018. NO PHOTO IS NEEDED.  WE ONLY LOOK AT GPA FOR GRADES 9 - 12, DO NOT PUT IN JUNIOR HIGH OR COLLEGE COURSES.

ABOUT THE STUDENT PROFILE:  Please note that the student profile contains a section for parent financial information.  Dundee Dollars for Scholars does not require you to complete this section, however, two of our scholarships require that you complete this section:  The Philip Kendall Award and the Ken and Ruth Taylor Award.  Additionally, you may be eligible for scholarships that are national in scope, and they almost always require parent financial information.  Dundee Dollars for Scholars does not not consider need in awarding any of the other scholarships.  To complete the parent financial information, you will need to provide your  FAFSA Expected Family Contribution.

I AM A MEMBER OF THE CLASS OF 2018. IF I WAS AWARDED A DUNDEE DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS AWARD AT GRADUATION, HOW DO I GET MY AWARD(S)?

 AFTER GRADUATION, YOU MUST GO TO YOUR ON LINE STUDENT PROFILE AND ACCEPT ALL AWARDS THAT YOU RECEIVE BY JULY 1.  IF YOU DO NOT TAKE THIS STEP, ALL OF YOUR AWARDS WILL BE FORFEITED! 

1.  Log in to your student login and look at "My scholarships" at bottom of page, see "to edit, submit and check the status of scholarships you've already found" then click here.

2. See "awarded applications" at bottom of page.

3.  Click "Accept scholarship" for each scholarship shown.

4.  Fill out form that you see with all required information and submit.

After you have accepted your scholarship, contact your college/school's registrar's office.  Tell them you have a Dollars for Scholars Scholarship, and ask them to send  Dundee Dollars for Scholars  proof of your full time enrollment, along with the address where Dundee Dollars for Scholars should send your scholarship check.  The address they would use is:  Dundee Dollars for Scholars, Treasurer, PO Box 204, Dundee, NY  14837. Once the treasurer receives proof of enrollment, she will issue the check to your school.  There is no deadline for this step, generally, it is best if you do this by August 1st, to receive your funds as quickly as possible.  Please note for renewable scholarships you must ask your school to submit proof of enrollment each year that it is renewable. The general scholarships are renewable starting at the beginning of your second year, as is the 2 year Rotary Scholarship. The 4 year Rotary Scholarship is renewable at the beginning of your 2nd, 3rd and 4th year.  The other scholarships are not renewable. 

 

WHAT ABOUT MATCHING FUNDS?  Within Scholarship America's® Collegiate Partner® program, several of the schools will match the Dollars for Scholars awards that come onto their campus. Please check the Collegiate Partner Directory to see if the school you are attending is a Matching Partner. Dundee Dollars for Scholars will submit Matching Grant Request to your school.  Please let us know if your school offers matching funds, so we can submit the grant request for you.

 WHAT IF I DON'T GO TO SCHOOL THIS FALL?  Your award must be used within 6 years of graduation from Dundee, and may be used for undergraduate work only.  Any forfeited scholarship funds go back into the general fund of Dundee Dollars for Scholars.  If you wish to defer, please let our treasurer know as soon as possible, by writing to her at PO Box 204, Dundee, NY 14837.

 WHAT IF I DON'T GO TO SCHOOL FULL TIME?  The scholarship funds will only be paid to students enrolled full time.  

ABOUT DUNDEE DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS SCHOLARSHIPS:  Scholarships are awarded to each DCS senior that applies.  Generally, the total amount awarded to each student ranges from $200 - $1500.  There are various categories of scholarships that make up these awarded amounts.  

  • Dundee Dollars for Scholars Scholarships, awarded to every DCS senior that applies
  • 4 Year Dundee Rotary Scholarship, awarded to 2 seniors with community service hours planning to complete a bachelors degree
  • 2 Year Dundee Rotary Scholarship, awarded to  2 seniors with community service hours planning to complete an associate's degree
  • Russell Freeland Scholarship, a $200 scholarship awarded to a senior who is pursuing a degree in the visual arts
  • Kenneth L. & Ruth Webster Taylor Scholarship, awarded to a senior who has demonstrated leadership, proven scholastic ability and above average academic achievement. Financial need is considered
  • Paul Woodard E.Memorial Award, a $125 scholarship awarded to a senior who has excelled as a student and athlete
  • Phillip Kendal Memorial Scholarship, awarded to a senior pursing any form of a business career. Financial need is considered.
