INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE STUDENT PROFILE (aka the application):  

- There is a section for parent financial information.  Dundee Dollars for Scholars does not require you to complete this section, however, two of our scholarships require that you complete this section: The Philip Kendall Award and the Kenneth and Ruth Webster Taylor Award.  Additionally, you may be eligible for scholarships that are national in scope, and they almost always require parent financial information.  Dundee Dollars for Scholars does not not consider need in awarding any of the other scholarships.  To complete the parent financial information, you will need to provide your FAFSA Expected Family Contribution.  

- We only consider GPA from Grades 9-12.  Do not enter junior high or college courses.

"Goals and Aspirations" and "Unusual Circumstances" Essay - maximum 250 words

IMPORTANT...Must click the "APPLY" button(s) under the MY SCHOLARSHIPS section to complete the application process.  If you do not, your application will not be viewed and you will not receive an award.

 

STEP 2: ACCEPT

AFTER GRADUATION DAY, YOU MUST GO TO YOUR ON-LINE STUDENT PROFILE AND "ACCEPT" ALL YOUR AWARDS BY JUNE 30th.  IF YOU DO NOT, ALL OF YOUR AWARDS WILL BE FORFEITED! 

1.  Log in to your student profile.  Go to "My scholarships" at bottom of page.  Click on "To edit, submit and check the status of scholarships you've already found."

2. Go to "Awarded Applications" at bottom of page.

3. Click "Accept Scholarship" for each scholarship shown.

4.  Fill out the form with all required information and Submit.

 

STEP 3: ASK

1. When you are ready to receive your award money, send Proof of Enrollment (ex: a letter from your college or copy of a class schedule) to: Dundee Dollars for Scholars, Treasurer, PO Box 204, Dundee, NY 14837 or email to dundee@dollarsforscholars.org.  Please ensure you provide your name, college ID number and address to mail the check.

2.  Once the treasurer receives proof of enrollment, they will issue the check directly to your school.  There is no deadline for this step, however it is best to do it by August 1st in order to receive your funds promptly.

NOTE:  For renewable (multiple year) scholarships, you must submit proof of enrollment each year that you want to receive the funds.

FAQ's

WHAT ABOUT MATCHING FUNDS?  Within Scholarship America's® Collegiate Partner® program, several of the schools will match the Dollars for Scholars awards that come onto their campus. Please check the Collegiate Partner Directory to see if the school you are attending is a Matching Partner.  Dundee Dollars for Scholars will submit a Matching Grant Request to your school.  Please let us know if your school offers matching funds so we can submit the grant request for you.

 WHAT IF I DON'T GO TO SCHOOL THIS FALL?  Your award must be used within 6 years of graduation from Dundee and may be used for undergraduate work only.  Any forfeited scholarship funds go back into the general fund of Dundee Dollars for Scholars.  If you wish to defer, please let our treasurer know as soon as possible by writing to them at: PO Box 204, Dundee, NY 14837 or email to dundee@dollarsforscholars.org.  

 WHAT IF I DON'T GO TO SCHOOL FULL TIME?  The scholarship funds will only be paid to students when they are enrolled full time.  If you do not attend school full time anytime within 6 years, the funds to will be forfeited.

ABOUT DUNDEE DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS SCHOLARSHIPS:  

Scholarships are awarded to each DCS senior that applies.  Generally, the total amount awarded to each student ranges from $200 - $1500.  There are various categories of scholarships that make up these awarded amounts.

  • Dundee Dollars for Scholars General Scholarships, awarded to every DCS senior that properly completes an application.
  • Russell Freeland Scholarship, a $200 scholarship awarded to a senior who is pursuing a degree in the visual arts.
  • Kenneth L. & Ruth Webster Taylor Scholarship, awarded to seniors who have demonstrated leadership, proven scholastic ability and above average academic achievement. Financial need is considered.
  • Paul Woodard Memorial Award, a $125 scholarship awarded to a senior who has excelled as a student and athlete.
  • Phillip Kendall Memorial Scholarship, awarded to seniors pursing any kind of business career.  Financial need is considered.
  • Dundee Area Historical Society is a $250 award.
